Gabby Schulz joined me for a lively chat about his Eisner nominated book Monsters. I really really liked this book. Very much in the same vein as Justin Green, with cartooning that can’t be beat.
Michel Fiffe is one of the founding dudes of the Act-i-vate comics collective and a mighty fine cartoonist himself. He did this mix quite a while ago, and I have been way too slow on posting it. Its a fine mix that needs to be listened to.

Dash Shaw returns for a catch up on his latest projects, Bodyworld, Unclothed Man in the 35th Century A.D. and his film projects. We also have a little bit of a follow up discussion to the panel from TCAF.

Hello,
I’m Brandon, I make comics. King city(Image) and Multiple warheads (oni)
Robin was nice enough to let me use his space.
Some months back I got to go out to the SCAD art school to talk about comics.
A lot of these images were put together for a slide show I did out there on things that excite me about this comic book
medium and how it’s affected my own work.

Picture Box bigwig Dan Nadel returns for a full length chat about his latest book, Art In Time, Comics Comics, Jack Kirby and some of the future Picture Box releases. I always enjoy talking to Dan and this was no exception. This interview has a rare time were I freak out over something Dan mentions. Gondry et Doucet!
Dusty Peas aka Jamie Q and James Kirkpatrick are in town for an art show they are putting together at Lucky’s Comics this weekend. There collaborative work kind of falls into a style that i have a lot of love for. It was excellent to talk to both of them together about process, collaboration and more.
Part of my Toronto trip, was spent interviewing a couple of folks that who’s work is really exciting me right now. Michael DeForge is certainly near the top of my list of new creators doing amazing work. His first 2 issues of Lose have come out swinging with an eye for comics lore and stellar cartooning. This interview was conducted a couple of days before his much deserved Doug Wright award win. Go do yourself a favor and check out his livejournal for more info.
David Lloyd is making a quick trip to the west coast of Canada and that brought a great opportunity for me to have a chat with co-creator of one of the most formative influences on me as a comic reader. V for Vendetta is one of the those books that has a timeless quality that asks the tough questions that need asking. As a creator, David has been following through with a unique uncompromised vision, maintaining a minimal but strong output. His latest book, Kickback fell under the radar, but is well worth checking out, to see where his work has developed in time and what stories are important for him to tell.
David will be in Victoria on Saturday the 29th at the most excellent Legends Comics and in Vancouver on the 30th at the Vancouver Comicon at Main and 15th.
