For excellent examples of interviews which act as criticism and interviews which lack any critical thought process, compare Gil Kane and Joe Simon’s interviews included on the Will Eisner: Portrait of a Sequential Artist DVD. Simon doesn’t seem to comprehend Eisner’s simple thesis that comic books are an artform, and claims his crosshatching technique is a storytelling innovation.
I was wondering if you’ve stopped updating your itunes podcast? I think the last time I saw a new episode was around June!
