Joe Matt part 1

Here it is folks, the guy you have all been waiting for. Joe Matt has been making some pretty hilarious comix for the last 20 years and is wealth of knowledge and hell of a chatty guy. He has four books available from one of my favorite publishers, Drawn and Quarterly, his most recent being Spent – a journey into his favorite past time/curse. This is part one of a two interview.

  1. I read the book Spent a year back and wanted to kill myself. It’s so boring, it is haunting. I regretted spending quite an amount on it:( Dis-a-ppointing.

  2. Dave says:

I love joe matt and peepshow, but what the heck is he doing now? Did he die, is he still producing a comic? Sadly missing in action. Did he hit the million dollar or what? Oh well, I didn’t know about Inkstuds, so this is a cool interview.

He’s still living in LA, and is apparently at work on stories regarding living there. He’s said they’ll most likely be published as one big book though, not single issues.

  3. Dan Springer says:

Is there any way to invest in some better sound equipment?

please note this interview is 7 years old and was recorded at CiTR on subpar equipment. things have changed since then.
